You are the late driver on Line 3. Control, the warm, chatty dispatcher on the radio, hands you the keys and says Marek "didn't come in again". The rule card on the dash has four rules and a great deal of other people's handwriting.
- Two views, two truths. The cab is the street as the driver sees it. The model is Control's miniature of the network, a table-sized city seen from far above: the same night, told differently. Some things are only there in one of them.
- A tram you really drive. Power, brake and a dead-man's pedal; doors that only open at a standstill; brakes that heat and fade on the hills; stops that only count if someone wants them.
- Passengers who talk. Edda with her casserole, Pia and her mother's eleven months of messages, Wim and his paper lantern, Lio the fitter who warned them about the brakes. Lean in to the mirror at a stop to catch what they whisper when they think you can't hear.
- The Grab. Once a night somebody gets up and puts a hand on your shoulder. You will not see it coming; you will remember who it was.
- Five nights. Quiet Route, Old Town, Rush Hour, the Asphodel Spur, and the Last Service. Three endings.
- A world that forgets. As the night goes wrong the palette thins, the pixels get chunky, the lights go out and the people nobody remembers lose their faces.
- Pixel pipeline. A 640 x 360 picture, a 48-colour night palette with ordered dither, outlines and a tilt-shift model view.
- Everything is spoken by SAM, the 1982 Software Automatic Mouth, and everything spoken is subtitled. The score is synthesised by code. There are no audio files in the game.
- Optional: Twitch. Open up the settings and type in your channel, and a rider on the tram reads out your chat, filtered, as often as you choose (rare to often). Read-only, no login.

Accessibility and content notes
- Subtitles for every spoken line and every sound; normal, large or off; typed or instant.
- Comfort mode: no flashes or strobing, softer static, a much calmer camera.
- Camera takeover (what the Grab may do to your view): off, a nudge, or the full turn. Scare intensity: gentle, normal or brutal.
- The dead-man's pedal can be hold or toggle.
- Horror: jump scares, a sudden forced camera turn (optional), disturbing themes (a disaster in which thirty-one people died, grief, being forgotten), flashing lights (off in comfort mode).
